Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Monitor packing line equipment such as straw applicators, shrink wrappers, case sealer, palletizers, and bar & date coding machines.
  • Ensure all supplies (shrink wrap etc.) are stocked and refilled for production.
  • Manually palletizing cases of finished products when pallets are stuck in machine to resume auto palletizer machine.
  • Check conveyors prior to production to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Inspect operating equipment to identify and resolve obstructions to resume operations.
  • Alert mechanic if equipment malfunctions and work with them to correct problem.
  • Maintain all equipment and work areas in a clean and sanitary condition by following proper cleaning procedures.
  • Perform work in safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out accurately, start-up and cleaning checklist, and quality check sheets.
  • Operate palletizing machine.
  • Responsible for completing all paperwork, checklists, tasks, and related duties accurately as directed.
  • Troubleshoot palletizing machine when needed.
  • Observe all safety rules and promote a safe working environment with team members.
  • Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
  • Compliance with the Company’s Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Profile

  • High School or GED
  • Experience operating a palletizer is required.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, and do light lifting (up to 30 lbs)
  • Ability to learn multiple pieces of operating equipment and basic trouble-shooting techniques.
  • Ability to work with and communicate well with others (ability to read, write and speak clearly in English)
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a food and beverage manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Suite of Applications), and instructional software
  • Skill in organization, analysis, time management, and the ability to meet deadlines for multiple tasks.
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
